Volunteer Info

The successful operation of a swim team depends on parent involvement during meets and throughout the season. When you register your child, you will need to select a minimum of four meets where you will be available to volunteer*.

Volunteer signups are handled via our Swimtopia website and you can also make changes to your elections if you're unexpectedly not able to attend a meet.  Please give as much advanced notice as possible so we can find another volunteer to fill your spot. 

You will receive an email prior to the meet to confirm your worker position.

There are many opportunities to volunteer throughout the season and we've put together the following descriptions of each volunteer opportunity.  Don't worry if you don't know what to do for any role, at our Time Trials meet we will do a dry run and offer training for all roles!  Some roles require training and/or certification including:

  • Stroke and Turn
  • Starter 

To volunteer for these roles you need to attend a 1-2 hour clinic for the job through TSA; you can find this years clinics here.  Once complete notify any board member so your account can be updated to reflect your eligability for the role. 

If we do not have enough volunteers for a social event or a meet, we will cancel the social or forfeit the meet.

*If you are unable to volunteer during the meets, please contact the Board of Directors to be excused, or negotiate other means of supporting the swim team.  We understand that sometimes life gets in the way and parents will be unable to meet the volunteer requirements. We do offer a "buy out" program of $150/season you're unable to volunteer for, make your check out to Hasentree Hammerhead Parent Boosters.
